Project overview

Simplifying business management and
customer experience through
exceptional UX.

We're a bunch of UX enthusiasts working in the capacity of UX Designers for one of the leading IT firm, Galaxy Weblinks. Our organisation provides custom software solutions and design assistance services to clients. We were asked to discuss the roadmap and UX for an in-house social application that would allow company employees to reap the below-mentioned benefits.

  • Start getting acquainted with the company culture (if you’re a new joiner)

  • Stay updated with internal activities & events and much more!

Problem

Being in association with the firm for more than 6 months now, we enjoy our every day spent here thoroughly. However, I still remember the first day jitters and nervousness that I had — new place, nobody to really talk to, where’s the washroom, where to brunch.
After having a word with my colleagues down the line on this matter, I realized that the “first-day jitters” weren't only specific to me as it happens with every newbie coming into an organization. So, we communicated it to the management and they came up with an idea to build a digital solution that would enable people to get comfortable at the workplace.
Moreover, they envisioned that the solution would encompass all the important features such as details about upcoming office activities and events, applying for leaves, etc.

Solution

We knew that in order to build a successful app that we have envisioned, we need to involve & evaluate the needs of the primary and secondary stakeholders i.e., employees and administrative management respectively. So, we started by conducting the interviews for the same.
The user interviews revealed some staggering details about the potential audience, which made us realize that the digital solution being made could indeed be a trailblazer.
For instance, we found that if an employee isn't able to gel well within a few days in the firm, he won't be able to at all during his entire tenure. Or worst, he would most likely separate from the organization or be the cause of many disputes in the future if he stays.
